I'm Not A Playa...

I just teach a lot... I hope y'all get ready to teach a lot (and stop being playas)...

Finally...

From my graph I have concluded that day students carry an average of 100 chf more on them than boarding students. I asked all of my students during the school day on weekdays. Because of this, day students might have to eat a meal on their way home or take a taxi back to their house. Boarding students probably have their money locked in their dorm room closet, so they do not need much for the class day. I think Ms. Blum should encourage students to carry less money with them so that there are fewer thefts on campus, which will benefit our student body immensely.

In conclusion, if you want to randomly go to Sara Li's with your TASIS boarding school friends for ice cream after lunch, most should have the money in their pocket to be able to go with you. However, if you want to take a taxi down to Lugano (ie: the world's most expensive taxis) they will probably need to visit the ATM first! Unless this friend is Paolo Pinto... Thank you all for your time!

The 3 M's!

After reviewing my graph, I have calculated the mean, median, and mode number of Francs my friends have. The mode, or most common, was 10, which 8 people had. The median was 12 Francs, which was my middle value. And by finding the average, I calculated that the mean was 21.5 francs. I think this is so high, because when I asked Paolo Pinto, he had 150 chf in his wallet, and was a clear outlier. Overall, I think that the mode is the best representation of my data, because most students had at or near 10 chf.

As you can see most of the highest values are boarding students and the fewest are all day students. There was one outlier (Paolo Palma) who had 300 francs in his pocket.

The x axis represents the number of Francs people had, and each dot represents one person. As you can see, 25 and 40 were the most common total, with a large range between 5 and 50. In the next graph you can see the totals broken down between day student and boarding students.

Survey Results

For my survey, I asked various students and teachers all over campus how much money they had on them. I asked both day and boarding students as well as teachers who lived on campus and off. I watched them count their money to make sure their answers were correct and the results I found were:
